Ford and Stanley Interim - The Rail Recruitment Experts- are seeking multiple Site Managers to support a major TOC

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Rail Site Manager to joint a highly successful train operating company who run services in the East of England.

Location: South East of England (multiple location options e.g. Norwich, Chelmsford, Cambridge, Bishops Shortford, Ilford).

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have rail experience and a sound understanding of issues in relation to construction and safety management systems. You will have proven site manager skills of contracted valued over £1million. You will have a good understanding of contractor management and safety regulations (particularly CDM).

Role & responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the company's property assets, working within the framework of best value and the Project teams' financial constraints
• Assist in ensuring that the asset management responsibilities for maintenance to stations, depots and duties as landlords for commercial and residential tenants are upheld in line with legislations and all quality standards
• Support the Projects team in undertaking site-based contractor management
• Ensure that cost effective, reliable and sustainable services are provided in accordance with industry best practice
• Manage pre-works, post-works inspections, works variation requests, ensuring safety risk rating and input data related to works instructions into the company's asset management reporting system
• Oversee the redevelopment/refurbishment of station renewals
• Assisting the Programme Manager in ensuring expenditure is kept in line with budget provision and consistent with the agreed strategy for the contract
• Contribute to the validation of works payment applications
• Mange any day to day contractor issues ensuring they are adhering to safety standards
• Maintain frequent site presence at worksites

Essentials skills

• Proven Site Manager experience on Rail contracts valued over £1million
• Minimum ONC/HNC in Building/Building Services or equivalent
• A minimum of 3-years relevant construction/inspection experience in the Rail industry
• Environmental awareness
• Knowledge and understanding of contractor management
• Detailed knowledge of safety regulations- particularly CDM
• Extensive knowledge of station maintenance and safe working methods
• Good understanding of Rail industry issues in relation to construction and safety management systems
• Basic knowledge of buildings management
