Due to an increase in work, our client, a Tier 1 contractor operating within the rail industry is seeking to employ 2 x Sub Agents to be based from central Glasgow and Perth supporting the regional asset maintenance works.

These positions offer the opportunity to continue in your professional development in civil and structural engineering within a busy environment (working on roads, bridges, footbridges, tunnels, flood schemes, embankments and similar works).

As Sub Agent you will be directly responsible for the daily management of various civil engineering and rail projects within our portfolio of work in the region. Day to day responsibilities would include:

• Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of:

o All applicable legislation

o The Terms and Conditions of the Contract

o The Contract Health and Safety Plan

o The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets

o The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan

• Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.

• Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.

• The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.

• Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.

• The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Project and Contracts Managers.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent in a civil engineering environment.

Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
Experience as a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment.
Experience in a similar role working on multi-disciplinary civils infrastructure projects.
