Software Systems Manager - Ashby - 6 months initially

Our client are looking for a Software Systems Manager to join their team in Ashby on an initial 6 month contract

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How

Essential:

• Professional knowledge (5-7 years experience) in an IT or projects role.
• Experience in consolidation of multiple legacy file stores of train design data into a single content management system (Teamcenter - Product Lifecycle Management).
• Experience of creation of managed workflows / configuration control for safety related defects and engineering change control processes.
• Strong technical background in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Track record of project delivery & management in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Is a Member and Qualified to APM (Association of Project Management) Introductory Certificate (IC) level or equivalent.
• Excellent organisation and leadership skills.
• Strong communicator and can demonstrate good stakeholder management.
• Experience of commercial and B2B contractual agreements including negotiation of new contracts and/or contract extensions.

Preferred:

• Thorough knowledge of railway business and operating requirements, including rolling stock technical aspects/practices, and Railway Group Standards.
• Chartered Engineer with membership of a senior Engineering Institution.
• A further qualification in project management (MSc) or business studies (MBA), with Membership of the Association of Project Management (APMP) or Institute of Project Managers.
• Good analytical and problem solving ability, comfortable with both big picture and detail as the need arises.
• Understand the competitive market and the importance of delivery of excellent customer service at all times.
