The Subway has been modernised twice in its history with the previous modernisation taking place in the late 1970s. We are currently undertaking a £288m transformational project which will result in the Subway being one of the most advanced systems in Europe. In 2018 at InnoTrans, Stadler (part of our joint venture delivery contractor ANSTA) unveiled the first new Subway train, the first of which have now started to arrive in Glasgow. This is your opportunity to be part of the future of Subway, helping us to deliver the first full Unattended Train Operation (UTO) system in the UK.
As work on Subway Modernisation continues at pace this year, we are seeking a Technical Trainer & Competence Manager who will work with external and internal stakeholders to design and deliver technical training, competence assessment and internal verification for maintenance of subway assets. You will also be responsible for skills migration and transition from legacy fleet to new technology associated with new rolling stock, signalling and control systems. You will develop a plan of training to ensure the Subway continues to deliver for its customers throughout this exciting and challenging time, while transforming our operating model to deliver the modernised Subway.

A highly motivated, reliable and capable individual with planning skills you will be experienced in delivering training for complex maintenance activities. You will use your influencing and communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our staff are trained and competent as we move forward.
