The overall purpose of a Delivery Manager (Telecoms) is to manage and deliver Telecoms package of work on a multidisciplinary project or projects depending on the size of the project
- Manage and deliver Telecoms work package on a multidisciplinary project or projects depending on size of the project
- Day to day management and supervision of the Telecoms subcontractors on site
- Co-ordinate and Integrate design with construction activities whilst resolving any technical issues in a timely manner to meet the programme
- Chair subcontract progress meetings and attend Client meetings where required
- Manage the timely production and submission of Work package Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, Test & Commissioning Plans ensuring that approval from the Client is granted in a timely manner to meet the construction programme.
- Ensure the timely specification, ordering and delivery of all telecoms material/equipment whilst resolving any technical issues with suppliers
- Manage scope changes and ensure variations are raised in a timely manner.
- Ensure all works are carried in accordance with Network Rail standards and any statutory requirements
- Attend quarterly Engineering Council to receive Standard Change briefing
- Ensure a robust programme that is co-ordinated with other interfacing disciplines is prepared and where work is carried out in possessions the work has been planned into possessions
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to successfully manage the project cost plan and assess variations and claims from the subcontractor
- Evaluate performance of subcontractors and propose corrective measures where poor performance is identified
- Ensure telecoms works are sufficiently co-ordinated with other disciplines to achieve a successful multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed in a timely manner to avoid adverse impact on the project.
- Raise Technical Queries and Request for Information where required in a timely manner
- Undertake joint Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) with the client for any manufactured equipment where required
- Ensure Dilapidation surveys are carried out as per AMP process prior to work commencing on site.
- Ensure handover site walkout with the maintainer is completed and all identified snagging is closed in a timely manner to facilitate full handover of assets to the client
- Ensure Health and Safety File including O & M manuals, ellipse data, as built records and training are up to date
- Promote excellence in telecoms delivery to enhance the business’s overall delivery reputation.
- Promote collaborative working relationship with suppliers, client and other stakeholders
- Manage signalling stage work commissioning hour by hour programmes in possessions and instigate mitigations where required to ensure the signalling system is successfully handed back into service at the end of the possession.
- Attend meetings as required by the Project Manager including White board meetings for possession works spares are completed prior to project close out.
- Carry out a minimum of 12 Health and site inspections per annum (average of one inspection per period)
- Attend and actively contribute to the business’s PALS safety culture briefings to “ensure everyone goes home safely everyday
- Act as CRE Construction prior to appointment of subcontractor where required subject to approval by the Contract Engineering Manager
