Test & Commissioning Manager

Contract: Part/ full time position (potentially a long term assignment of 12 – 18 months)

About the project:

It is a new 14KM Light Rail (Tram) running through the centre of Odense and connecting South of Denmark University and New Hospital to the south of the city. Operation is classic tramway ‘Line of Sight’. The design phase is largely complete and the project is currently advanced into the construction phase where WSP have a Construction Inspection Team validating the Contractors detailed design is installed in accordance with the design.

The T&C phase is already ongoing and characterized primarily by Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and a clear picture of the subsequent T&C stages is currently the focus including Post Installation Tests (PIT), System Acceptance Test (SAT) for sub-system and overall systems, Site Integration Tests (SIT) and System Operational Demonstration Test (SDOT).

The role:

The role as T&C Manager would be to act as the Client’s T&C Manager/ Specialist, supporting the Client in upcoming T&C phase.

Key responsibilities:

• Review of the Contractors T&C documentation (e.g. T&C Plan, V&V Plan) and validation against compliance against the TS Contract and industry best practices
• Review of the Contractors T&C programme to validate a logical sequencing of T&C activities and support in monitoring progress against the schedule and the proposed sequencing of T&C activities.
• Validating that the TS Contractor is fulfilling their obligation as System Integrator and coordinating involvement of the RS Supplier in the T&C phase.
• Support in the communication with other key stakeholders (e.g. Odense Municipality, Emergency Services) and their involvement of the T&C phase.
• Support in the WSP Project Manage in coordinating T&C activities of the WSP team technical discipline leads (this team has previously been responsible for providing design assurance in the design phase and the Client also has a construction inspection team and will be available to support in the review of T&C technical documentation, e.g. Test Procedures, Test Reports, Interim Test Reports).
• Support the Client safety organisation with input as required

Requirements:

• Experience as T&C Manager/ Specialist in Railway Projects;
• Experience of T&C of light rail systems (tramways) preferred but not essential
• Experience of key T&C phase FAT, PIT, SAT, SIT and System Demonstration Operation Test (SDOT); dynamic testing is a key focus of the client.
• Fluent in English communication (English is the project language)
