Location: Stratford based but working from multiple London based project locations
Hours: Night shift 11:00pm until 6:30am but this can vary

We are currently looking for a customer focused Test and Commissioning (T&C) Technical Night Manager to join the Field Operations team working on the 4LM project. Your primary purpose will be to manage the Night Test teams of up to 100 people and ensure that all technical information has been distributed to the right people both within the internal team and to the subcontractors. This role would suit someone with a background and a good understanding of railway signalling testing activities who has managed large teams.

Key duties:

  • Technical assessment of queries from test teams
  • Provision of progress reporting to project or function for T&C night activities
  • Ensure all assigned work is completed to schedule, to budget (agreed hours) and to quality
  • Ensure compliance to signalling standards, and appropriate HSE and quality standards
  • Generate on-site inspection reports for T&C management and project management
  • Generate periodic KPI statistics for review meetings
  •  Conduct technical surveys of sites
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner
  • Mentor the Test team and co-ordinate subcontractors and review subcontractor activities
  • Provide support to the management team when carrying out fault or incident investigations
  • Review the night management processes to ensure they remain suitable and sufficient
  • Interface between Test Support and T&C Management
Skills and experience required:
  • A background and a good understanding of testing activities in Railway Signalling
  • Experience managing large teams ideally in test
  • Able to work nights and flexibility when required to work days
  • Good understanding of the railway and construction industry terminology and acronyms
  • The ability to demonstrate pro-active engagement with all levels within projects to drive and promote leadership
  • Ability to work and produce required information within tight timescales
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and to produce accurate reports
  • Flexible around working from multiple locations in and around London
