Traction Power Manager in Dublin, Ireland

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintenance of traction power systems (10.5 kV MV Switchgear, 750 V DC Switchgear, 400 V LV Switchgear, UPS, DC Chargers, VLDs, TDC Boxes, Earthing System) in line with Manufacturer Recommendations, O&M Manuals and Annual Maintenance Plan requirements.
  • Monitor Traction Power Infrastructure assets condition, prioritise Preventive and Corrective maintenance work through Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), undertake fault analysis and rectification where required.
  • Develop and write investigation procedures and reports for Root Cause Analysis of Power System Faults.
  • Providing line management and technical support for the team supervisors and multi-skilled Power technicians.
  • Providing training and specialist support for power system users for routine and corrective maintenance and fault finding.
  • Develop Switching programmes for routine and emergency shutdowns/isolation.
  • Liaising with OEMs in the event of traction power issues or modifications.
  • Specifying any remedial works or alternative parts to maintain and improve system functionality.
  • Update and review Method Statements and Checklists to ensure the procedures are carried out
  • to IEC/IEEE standards, O&M Manuals and in safe manner according to H&S guidelines.
  • Engage with staff, internal and external customers, and stakeholders throughout the processes to deliver results.
  • Review of Risk Assessments and Risk Matrixes submitted by contractors and development of Risk
  • for Maintenance Tasks in system.
  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessments for materials used for
  • activities.
  • Responsible for Business Continuity Management with respect to Electrical Power Infrastructure.
  • Procurement of new parts/devices and manage repair of faulty protection relays (AC and DC), HSCBs, UPS, DC Chargers, MV Switchgear etc.
  • Responsible for Design Change Engineering of field modifications and obsolete parts.
  • Manage MV and DC Switchgear Upgrade Projects from Conception to Completion.

Experience:
  • Electrical Degree Qualification - NFQ Level 8 Preferably in Power Systems
  • Educated and skilled in traction power discipline for over 2 years.
  • AC and DC LV/MV Switchgear commissioning/maintenance experience will be preferred.
  • Significant leadership experience and proven ability to deliver outstanding standards of project management and Power System Maintenance.
  • At least 5 years experience of working in the rail industry along with at least 2 years experience of leading a team.
