Works Delivery Manager - Geo in Dinnington, United Kingdom
We are a primary contractor for Network Rail delivering a diverse range of projects from earthworks and embankment stabilisation schemes to major structural projects such as footbridge replacements and bridge refurbishments.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Management of Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts to requisite performance criteria.
- Planning, organisation, motivation and effective deployment of allocated site personnel and resources to achieve completion within the allowed programme period.
- Acceptance, control and reconciliation of temporary works and permanent works materials and equipment necessary to achieve the contract works in accordance with the planned activities.
- Ensure that pre-site visits have been undertaken where required and that the works have been estimated and approved by the client.
- Promote and implement site specific management plans to ensure site activities comply with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
- Requests / produces safe system of works where necessary.
- Prepare site works package plans and contract plans to achieve, as a minimum, the Client’s requirement and specification. Submit any possession, isolation and traffic management requests where required to enable works.
- Maintain the client’s database (Monitor) ensuring that all data is updated regularly to show progress of works assigned to them.
- Liaise with third parties to gain consents i.e. Natural England, Environment Agency, Transport for London, Local Authorities, British Waterways and Landowners.
- Raises design requests and submits to the design co-ordinator.
- Provide guidance and practical advice to site personnel for the competent execution of the contract works.
- Liaise with the contract manager and commercial team regarding any estimates, technical queries, where there may be concerns.
- Undertake a review of proposed physical works arising from any design works with the contract manager and commercial team to enable a physical works estimate to be produced.
- Maintain the client’s database (Monitor) ensuring that all data is updated regularly to show progress of works assigned to them.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Experience in a similar role
- 5 years’ experience in managing earthworks sites (ideally in a rail environment)
- Management of multiple work sites - Essential
- Civils background – Essential
- Cuttings and banking’s
- Geo technical works
QUALIFICATIONS
- Suitably qualified by experience
- Railway Safety Training (PTS/COSS)
- SMSTS & SSOW Planner

- have Civil engineering construction project work at least 5 years
- hold an HNC/HND in Civil Engineering
- hold an NVQ Level 4/5 n construction management CSCS Manager Card (Black)
- have Railway safety critical role experience
- have effective people management skills / motivating workforce
- have an understanding and promote quality Control
- have Commercial Awareness
- have Problem Solving Skills
