Works Delivery Manager -NW&C in Dinnington, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom
We are a primary contractor for Network Rail delivering a diverse range of projects from earthworks and embankment stabilisation schemes to major structural projects such as footbridge replacements and bridge refurbishments.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Works Delivery Manager will be responsible for the management of multiple Network Rail and rail related infrastructure contracts to requisite performance criteria, including planned and reactive works.
- Planning, organisation, motivation & deployment of allocated site personnel and resources within programme
- Control of temporary & permanent works materials & equipment
- Ensure pre-site visits have been undertaken & works have been approved by the client
- Promote & implement site specific management plans & activity in line with our policies
- Requests / produces safe system of works where necessary
- Prepare site works package plans & contract plans to achieve the client’s requirements and specification. Submit any possession, isolation & traffic management requests where required
- Maintain the client’s database ensuring all data is updated regularly
- Liaise with third parties to gain consents (i.e. Environment Agency, Local Authorities, etc)
- Raise design requests & submit to the design coordinator
- Provide guidance and advice to site personnel for the competent execution of contract works
- Liaise with Contract Manager & Commercial team regarding any estimates or technical queries
- Undertake a review of proposed works arising from any design works with Contract Manager & Commercial
- Liaise with the Contract Manager at all stages of works. Analyse and report contract progress and advise of any changes to the intended work scope
- Administration / completion of site paperwork and submit to head office
- Review completed works with the Site Supervisor to ensure it is satisfactory & project documentation present
- Liaise with client personnel on a day-to-day basis
- Identify training needs & development potential of allocated personnel
- Undertake site visits with other contracts / sub-contractors where necessary
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Civil Engineering Construction project work (at least 5 years) – Essential
- Management of multiple work sites – Essential
- Civils background – Essential
- Excellent people management skills
- Working within a railway environment – Desirable
- Strong knowledge of H&S regs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Suitably qualified by experience
- Railway Safety Training (PTS / COSS) – Essential
- SMSTS & SSOW Planner
- Degree qualified – Desirable
- ILM L5 / L7 – Desirable

- have Civil engineering construction project work at least 5 years
- hold a HNC/HND in Civil Engineering
- hold a NVQ Level 4/5 n construction management CSCS Manager Card (Black)
- have Railway safety critical role experience
