Main Duties & Responsibilities:
As Operation Planning Engineer you will support the Smart Mobility Service Line by proposing projects’ organization, defining development strategies and then implementing them within their scope for Transportations studies.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Lead operating studies as part of missions for opportunity studies, feasibility studies, preliminary studies in the field of rail, metro or tramway
- Develop operational strategies in different transport related environments
- Contribute to Upstream studies of public transport (Rail and metro, tramway)
- Manage tenders related to Transportation planning studies; Analyse the tender documentation & manage the Go/No Go Process; Work with the wider ETS bid team to complete inputs for bids and tenders
- Produce and manage operation studies; Give support and expertise in the topic
- Advise on operational costs /revenue (in support of Business Cases)
- Stakeholder Management: successfully manage clients, contractors or designers relationship by understanding and identifying their operational and functional needs & requirements; Propose solutions to improve and enhance customer experience
- Implement the input data in the rail operation simulation tools, interpret/analyze the results, then propose and update the functional infrastructure to answer to the needs
- Perform a benchmark on the operating parameters used in the context of studies and rail operating tools
- Contribute to the evolution of existing operating tools, and to the development of new tools
- Develop methodologies and tools that de-risk the opening and operation of new facilities and assets
- Contribute/lead in the standardization of the presentation of study results
- In accordance with corporate responsibility for the business, work effectively as part of the senior management team and take a “whole company” perspective to managing issues
- Ensure proper reporting to the Management team
Person Specification:
Essential:
- 10 years Design/Construction scheduling
- Significant experience in operation studies, operations planning as applied to major railway infrastructure projects
- Good overall and general knowledge of the functioning of a transport infrastructure, his systems and sub-systems
- Ability to understand the functional needs of the customer or operator and translate them into the capacity study and the line diagram
- Experience on rail operation simulation tools like Raisys, Opentrack, Viriato, Vissim or equivalentRigor, critical thinking, teamwork are qualities required to carry out the mission. Intellectual curiosity and a good knowledge of numerical analysis are required.
You must have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic degree
- Experience of process definition, improvement, and testing
