Working with a leading civil engineering contractor to the UK rail industry I am currently recruiting for a Senior P6 Planner to join their team in the South West to be responsible for tender planning and assist with the delivery of small to medium sized projects on frameworks and from successfully tendered works. They are a business that is continually growing and expanding their offering to clients while also rewarding and encourage staff development, empowering their staff to take ownership and lead situations and decision making.

The ideal Senior Planner for this role will be someone who works comfortably with P6 and thrives in fast paced environments with the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and programmes with values varying from £100k to several £million. As the only Planner in the office you will need to able to effectively manage your own workload to fit project and framework requirements, you will however be working very closely with Project Managers and Agents for the specific projects you are programming and planning.

As Senior Planner you will be involved in a wide variety of project types including earthworks, structures, stations and building works for Network Rail and other clients, there will be a fairly large volume of projects that all require major input into planning of labour, plant and materials, project programmes, activity schedules and critical path analysis. On a day to day basis the Senior Planner will work very closely with operational and construction teams as well as design managers to ensure the P6 programmes are updated and optimised as well as being able to capture and monitor the impact of any change events

To be considered for this Senior Planner position you must have prior experience of working for a civil engineering contractor producing programmes in P6 from first principles. Ideally you will have experience of rail projects and terminology / processes such as GRIP. Any experience of working under the NEC form of contract would also be beneficial.

Salary and package available for this position is dependent on your skills and abilities but will be in the region of £45k and £55k per annum, benefits include a company car or car allowance, company pension and private medical cover.
