RAIL - Performance & Planning Manager – Sussex - £80,000 per annum + benefits

I am working with a well-established rail company who are looking to take on an experienced Performance & Planning Manager to be based in Suffolk. You’ll have responsibility on multiple fleets of rolling stock, ensure maintenance, repairs and availability is effectively planned to maximise safe availability of fleet, as well as manage the fleet performance team and develop continuous improvement strategies to maximise fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement fully integrated maintenance plans for rolling stock
• Manage planning team to deliver required availability of fleets
• Develop and implement performance strategies for the fleets of trains – always encompassing continuous improvement practices
• Drive continuous reduction in rolling stock MTIN incidents and DPI
• Deliver fleet industry and DfT performance targets for the service (e.g. Incidents, Primary Delay Minutes, Capacity)
• Manage both performance and planning teams, with 30 reports

Profile:

• Chartered Engineer or working towards membership of approved institute (ideally)
• 5+ years’ experience in management of rolling stock maintenance activities
• Strong technical knowledge of variety of traction and rolling stock
• Excellent knowledge of railway operating and safety standards, industry regulations and legislation
• Strong knowledge of fleet performance management processes
• Proven track record of managing large groups of staff
