Do you have a passion for improvement? We are passionate, driven individual who can produce plans to deliver performance improvements across the whole rail business.
The role will work with the Performance Team to ensure delivery of accurate and effective data to allow the different owners within the business to see where the performance loss is and facilitate appropriately targeted performance plans to address the issues raised. The role will work with the Heads of and their teams to put in place appropriate and effective improvement plans that tackle the areas of improvement.

The role will work with the Heads of and their teams to put in place appropriate and effective improvement plans that tackle the areas of improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide the Exec team with a performance improvement plan made up of different improvement actions. The plan should demonstrate to stakeholders what it is we are doing to deliver performance improvement actions and the results they have had.
- Provide the business teams with appropriate levels of detail that enable the reader to see clearly where the performance loss is and what they need to do about it to improve.
- Read and interpretate data to explain to other colleagues and stakeholders where the performance loss is happening and why.
- Ensure performance improvement plans are kept updated, monitored and results recorded to show their impact.
- Work with colleagues to get the best out of their performance improvement plans as possible and collaborate around colleagues to ensure best practice is shared and understood.
- Develop and embed a continuous improvement culture to the performance management process.
- Identify and lead the development of other business innovations as required
- Manage the meeting process as part of the performance improvement plan but also chair the weekly meetings as required.
Essential Skills/Qualifications
- Extensive practical experience working in a performance/operational function.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience practically implementing proactive performance improvement initiatives.
- Suitable performance improvement-based training/qualification (i.e., LEAN/Six sigma).
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills and be able to achieve goals and objectives through others.
- Ability to work with concepts and design documents and processes.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software packages and ability to adapt and learn new packages as required to deliver work streams.
- Strong ability to analyse information and collaboratively determine effective solutions.
- People Management ability to partner with a wide variety of operational functions across the business, motivating managers and staff to appreciate the importance of learning from operations and innovating in how safety is managed.
- Innovation be able to suggest, sell, champion and implement innovative solutions to performance across the business.
- Communication Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to partner and build effective relationships with a wide variety of operational functions.
