Reports to: Planning Manager Contractual Location: Flexible – Office/Home - South West
Contract: Full Time / Permanent Hours: 40 Hours per week

About us:
XEIAD is a Civil Engineering Consultancy specialising in Structures Asset Management Engineering and
difficult access inspections of the Rail and Highway infrastructure with offices based across the UK.
Main Purpose:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Planner to work as part of the Rail team to assist with the
successful delivery of allocated contracts, ensuring that all works are planned to be undertaken safely
and in accordance with XEIAD Policies and Procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Booking of possessions/isolations
- Booking Safety Critical staff for site activities
- Maintain the log of booked possessions, worksites, line blockages and isolations requested
- Liaise with the Responsible Manager and operational teams on all planning matters.
- Assist in developing cost effective and optimum track access solutions at tender stage to promote sustainable and robust possession scheduling.
- Analyse and evaluate access requirements and logistics for specific worksites.
- Monitor, record and highlight any possession planning changes. Maintain a worksite planning
- process in line with the industry rule book regulations
- Be the route face and voice of XEIAD when representing works at area planning meetings and attendance at all planning meetings from T-35 weeks to T-10 days, and PICOP briefings as required
- Liaise with providers of isolation services to co-ordinate scheduling and delivery of overhead and third-rail isolations
- Identify project risks/opportunities relating to possessions/worksites and participate in the management process to ensure that all aspects of track safety are taken into consideration when planning a project.
- Provide support to Programme and Resource Managers through weekly meetings to ensure Possession/Worksite milestones are met to eliminate late change.
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- PTS and SSOWP Sentinel competencies
- Competent in the use of PPS for booking worksites and isolations
- Competent to prepare Safety documentation
- Appreciation of the PDSW process
- Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and collaborative team member, who can work closely with colleagues and fit
- seamlessly into a delivery team with a dedicated approach to meeting project deadline
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Appreciation of the railway industry, particularly railway geography and network capability
- Ideally have experience in or hold Rail safety critical competence (COSS/PIC, ES, SWL1/2)
- Relevant experience of working in a railway operating environment
- Computer literate with a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
