Planning Engineer - Rail - Fit Out
Location: London (Central)
An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as part of a new team on a major rail development. As part of the delivery team you will work closely with the project and construction manager coordinating the works. This would require someone that is used to high pressure and knows the hands on aspects of fitting out large buildings.
Duties:
- Responsible for DOWL Defect and Outstanding Works planning, programming and progress monitoring.
- To liaise with the Section team, the client, subcontractors, suppliers, third parties and designers on all matters relating to planning, and ensure that they understand the requirements, constraints and risks associated with the Programme.
- To understand what factors drive progress and advise the Section team on actions required to meet the project milestones, incorporate these factors into the programme, and ensure that there is an acceptable level of programme risk.
- To supply any planning outputs required by the Project Manager. To advise the project manager where these have an effect on his works and Programme (that are not in our scope)
- Assist in the management of change in regards of impact on programmes and progress, through discussion with the section's Commercial team. Ensure that the delivery team understand the requirements of the programme including regular reviews with the delivery engineers.
- Input progress into the programme to produce weekly progress reports
- Check Monitor site progress, assimilate progress for activities on the programme that have or should have progressed in the period, present progress to the Section team, and agree any changes to the programme required before issuing the revised programme.
- Maintain look-ahead programmes and advise on implications to both Client & Project Team.
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Excel as the primary planning software tool
- Consider and discuss alternatives and programme improvements with the Project Manager.
The role is based in SE1 and offers a contract of 6 months with the possibility of further works available.

The role may suit a hands on engineer who has been working closely with planning teams and knows how to use Excel spreadsheets to present information, planning activities and milestones.
