As a Portfolio Planning Assistant your main key responsibilities would be to:
provide analysis and reporting of the infrastructure investment portfolio, providing reports and insights to senior management on the performance of the enhancements portfolio to support key decision-making processes.
This includes supporting with the preparation of enhancements information as part of broader rail industry and regulatory processes, for example our business and industry long term strategic planning processes.
Your communication skills will be put to good use as you will liaise with project clients and sponsors to gather required inputs on time to undertake analysis and compile reports for key periodic meetings.
This will include compiling submissions and other information for these meetings.
You’ll also liaise with sponsors to collate and coordinate required information for the Enhancements Delivery Plan quarterly updates.
As well as, supporting the team in the production of papers for executive portfolio meetings.
Essential:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Good analytical skills,
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Proficient with MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Desirable
- Basic understanding of project and programme management principles and processes (e.g., Change Control).
- Basic understanding of Network Rail project processes.
- Some knowledge and experience of rail industry structure and planning processes.
- Experience of project reporting and analysis in relation to physical and financial performance
