Job Title: Possession Planner

XEIAD have an exciting opportunity to strengthen our growing Rail Sector team in the North and are pleased to invite CVs from dynamic and professional Railway Operations Planners to join our Engineering Consultancy and Infrastructure Services team in planning and co-ordinating lineside works.

As a Possession Planner, you will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating possessions, supporting project arrangements, submitting possession request forms using the PPS system and supporting the SSOW Planner. You shall also be responsible for briefing both management and inspection teams on planned arrangements.

The role would suit an established Possession Planner with demonstrable industry experience, preferable within the London North West route that holds Sentinel qualification for SSOWP and PDSW Planner which is required for our Proscient dependant worksites.

Principal Accountabilities

• Liaise with the Responsible Manager and operational teams on all planning matters.
• Assist in developing cost effective and optimum track access solutions at tender stage to promote sustainable and robust possession scheduling.
• Analyse and evaluate access requirements and logistics for specific worksites.
• Monitor, record and highlight any possession planning changes. Maintain a worksite planning process in line with the industry rule book regulations and comply with XEIAD policies and procedures.
• Attendance at all Planning meetings from T-47 weeks to T-10 days, and PICOP briefings as required
• Liaise with providers of isolation services to co-ordinate scheduling and delivery of overhead and third-rail isolations
• Prepare safety critical documentation in line with railway group standards

o SSOWPS Planning
o Production of Safe Work Packs (SWPs) as per Issue 9 of NR/L2/OHS/019
o Possession and Worksite Planning & input into PPS

• Identify project risks / opportunities relating to possessions/worksites and participate in the management process to ensure that all aspects of track safety are taken into consideration when planning a project.
• Provide support to Person in Charge, SWLs/COSS on SSOWP and maintain records of plans issued and hierarchy level selected for each plan produced.

Be accountable for, and adopt line management responsibility of other SSOW planners and contribute to the transfer of best practice

Requirements

• PTS and SSOWP Sentinel competencies
• Competent in the use of PPS for booking worksites and isolations
• Competent in the use of GZAM system for booking line blocks
• Competent to prepare all safety critical paperwork including WPP, SSOW.
• Trained to the PDSW
