This very well-known main contractor has a fantastic opportunity for a Possession Planner to join their rail division and take heed of a number on project at once.

The Opportunity

Covering projects within the LNW region, you will take responsibility one of the two sections of the route and pragmatically work in a fast paced, high-volume environment to book track access and possessions. The works will predominantly consist of enhancement and renewal projects which the business has a flourishing amount of long-term business on.

What is expected of me as Possession Planner?

  • You will Work closely with the Construction Management and Estimating team to identify all available possessions to optimise working and to maintain the project programme.
  • Prepare the master/contract/managing possession schedule and supporting information
  • You will Plan for work within a possession & track protection arrangement with & without electrification isolation, including TSR’s & ESR’s, section C & D notices, applying for a worksite using the Possession Planning System (PPS/GZAM/P4D-ONTRAC) & other application platforms in accordance with NR/L2/NDS/202, NR/L3/OCS/303 and NR/L3/INI/CP0064.
  • Using your expertise, identify project risks/opportunities and participate in the management process.
  • Monitor all applications made on the designated systems from inception through to successful delivery & review process’s and assist with close out on site.
  • Manage the possession programme for the territory and work stream.
  • Manage representation at planning, pre –possession and isolation meetings including appropriate safety critical staff / suppliers & the staff provided
  • Accurately record data for compliance with RISQS/P4D audit protocol requirements uploading onto workspace

Package:

The company are offering a generous package of £35,000 - £45,000 basic per annum DOE, company car or car allowance, fantastic overtime rates, 26 days holiday, matched pension and an ideal working policy of a 3-day office – 2-day home split to ensure a good work life balance.

With the position offering such a breadth of long-term work, somebody keen to progress within the company would be an ideal fit and you would be provided with a clear succession plan to your desired goals.

About You

To be considered for this position, it is a given that you’ll come from a background as a Track access Planner or Possession Planner within a Tier 1 or 2 contractor. It is essential that you have experience in booking Worksites / Line Blockages and are proficient in using PPS and GZAC (P4D Rail Hub).

You will be IT literate and confident using excel, share point and Network rail planning software. You’ll be confident in your knowledge of Network rail practices and in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have experience in booking OTP and be proficient in NROL.

Essential tickets: PTS, SSOW Planner

Desirable tickets: COSS/ES or SWL1/SWL2 (these will give position you well if you’re keen on working overtime)
