We are looking for a Process & Planning Engineer/Manager for one of our key rail clients based in Norwich on a Permanent basis.
This role has a salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 pa Depending on experience
The successful candidate will be expected to prepare for the efficient and effective execution of maintenance and repair work on a state of the art fleet of trains, ensuring timely and correct presence of components, material and documentation. You must be able to show attention to detail in project work and report writing, communication, teamwork and interaction across departments.

We are looking for a Process & Planning Engineer/Manager for one of our key rail clients based in Norwich on a Permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare for the efficient and effective execution of maintenance and repair work on a state of the art fleet of trains, ensuring timely and correct presence of components, material and documentation. You must be able to show attention to detail in project work and report writing, communication, teamwork and interaction across departments.
Accountabilities
Personnel:
- Interaction between staff across all departments both abroad and in the UK. Also to include supplier and third party communication and hosting site visits.
- Interpreting, organizing and moving work orders.
- Plan and reserve necessary components and estimate capacity for preventive maintenance, both corrective and long-term work.
- Create and manage work orders for additional work, preventative, corrective and planned work.
- Responsible for managing documentation such as work descriptions, manuals, drawings, vendor manuals and photographs all attached on SRMS.
- Weekly look ahead at upcoming maintenance units ensuring all documentation and materials are available for planned preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Operate as Project Manager for smaller projects and incidents as well as reporting recovery and progress, such as damage repair projects or installation of additional equipment.
- Create and implement new designs involving bespoke tooling for efficiency improvements in new and existing task.
- Produce detailed reports as directed by Head of Production for new tasks, tooling, processes of both technical and non-technical nature.
Organisational:
- Support on projects relating to both VMIs and SRMS improvements.
- Supplement SRMS and other relevant reporting systems with documents and works orders as required, including management and control, checklists, reserving parts, adding structural changes and assigning assets across the fleet.
- Organise and lead tooling and equipment changes for performance improvements whilst engaging and hosting suppliers.
- Responsible for producing timely reports across departments and ensuring set KPIs are adhered to and maintained.

Competencies Required
Essential:
- HNC/HND or higher qualifications in an engineering discipline.
- Proactive and task based focus to deliver tasks on time and to best case under budget.
- Strong knowledge, experience and understanding of risk and safety in the work place from a production perspective.
- Think out the box to solve complex and rigid problems, bringing solutions and ideas for discuss within the management team to bring about positive change
- Good IT skills.
- Strong and clear understanding of cost implications and experience in efficiency change for productive improvements.
- Attention to detail in report writing and documentation changes.
