Roster Coordinator in Rugby, United Kingdom
Samuel Knight International are pleased to be recruiting for a Rolling Stock roster coordinator. This is a key position for our client, who are a leader in the rolling stock industry and provide an excellent career structure for all applicants who want to progress in their chosen field.
The nature & purpose of the job.
The main responsibility of this role is to provide accurate machine plans & Rosters to Freight Drivers and Ground staff to ensure that all contractual and operational requirements for the operated fleet are compliant, timely and cost effective within the constraints of all appropriate terms and conditions and contracts. Essential areas of expertise will be required in dealing with colleague fatigue, and the deployment of on-track work force.
The main responsibilities and activities.
- Manage all Drivers and Ground staff annual leave and input onto roster and return annual leave slip within seven days
- Attend Planning Meetings with customers when necessary to discuss future workload and manage inputting of orders into the OTM database
- Check the work programme in collaboration with the maintenance and production departments prior to distribution to all Operators/Drivers.
- Attend Meetings with the Senior Head of Production and Delivery to discuss future workload and manage inputting of orders into the OTM database
- Identify and manage to close out all anomalies with the Customers orders
- Participate in daily /weekly/periodic operational planning meetings when required
- Identify the need for External Conductors and staff lodging requirements keeping both to a minimum.
- Liaise with the Control Room Managers and Regional Operations Managers with all changes
- Identify the need for Transit moves and input onto the database
- Attend interface meetings with the customers as require
- Carry out On-Call duties when required
This role requires the successful applicant to help create a safe environment, for themselves and colleagues maintain and exceed their minimum standard in line with legal expectations.
The key attributes of a successful candidate.
- An excellent knowledge of Rail rolling stock operations with a competent knowledge of the railway geography.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Rail conditions of service regarding employees.
