A short-term vacancy has arisen for a railway Safe System of Work Planner (SSOWP) with the Measurement Services Team.
The Measurement Services Team provide a variety of measurement services for both internal and external customers on rail infrastructure across the UK.
This role is for a railway Safe System of Work Planner (SSOWP), the project that the individual will be creating safe work plans and safety documentation for:
- Gauging surveys across the UK using a variety of industry standard systems
The SSOWP will undertake safe work planning and safety documentation as directed by the Measurement Services Team.
The individual will ideally have knowledge of Network Rail Safety requirements for undertaking site surveys whilst on the railway infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Planning line blockages and worksites in Network Rail’s GZAC and PPS systems for the purpose of undertaking gauging surveys on track
- Creation of Safe Work Packs, Task Briefing Sheets and Work Package Plans
- Working from home
The candidates should ideally have the following qualifications and experience:
- SSOWP competence
- Experience in using OnTrac, though training can be provided
- Access to Network Rail’s PPS and GZAC system for inputting worksites and line blockages
- Excellent knowledge of Possession Planning & Access Planning
- Competent in the use of PPS & GZAC system and have an in-depth knowledge of the preparation of all safety critical paperwork including SWPs, WPPs & TBS
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong rule book knowledge
- To be able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.).
