Senior Planner - Rail

What is the purpose of this role?
Overall responsibility to assist the Planning Manager in the interface between Siemens and the integrated mater programme.What will this role involve?
•Report to the Planning Manager for maintaining the signalling interface into the MasterProgramme/ IMS.
•Collaborate with the Project Manager in the import and validation of the Programme for
Acceptance.
•Collaborate with design and delivery planners to ensure alignment of GIVE/GETs in the
integration schedule
•Verify the programme import with the delivery planner on a periodic basis
•Obtain accurate actual progress and forecast to complete resource hours, third party,
subcontract, and material costs from relevant parties to enable the project plan to be updated
each period.
•Track progress, incorporate changes and forecast delivery dates and expenditure, meeting all
mandatory/contractual timescales
•Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, and periodic reports, statistics, and answer to
enquiries concerning the programmes
•Ensure high standards of programming are carried out to meet client and contract requirements
•Develop and improve working practices and seek innovative solutions
What we are looking for
Essential•Competent computer literacy with Primavera P6 Professional, MS Excel and MS Office suite
•Skilled at customer and supply chain management in challenging environments
•Significant project planning experience in multi-disciplinary projects (preferably) within the
railway infrastructure - strong interpersonal skills to manage all stakeholders
•Experience and understanding of the railway construction, upgrade, and operating
environment, especially within the Signalling discipline.
Desirable
•Extensive knowledge of track and overhead line construction processes, techniques, and
possession methodology
•Knowledge & experience of working within a multi-disciplinary integrated project.
•Experience and knowledge of planning for renewals and general civils.
•Relevant degree/experience.
About the contract
Transport for Wales has awarded Amey Infrastructure Wales (AIW) a multi-billion-pound contract to run the Wales and Borders train service and to develop the Cardiff Central Metro.
