If you’re a Planning Engineer with a background in buildability, then I have a brilliant opportunity for you. Based near Norwich, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a top tier contractor on a new-build highways scheme. The client is seeking a talented Senior Planner to assist in the ECI phase on several of these schemes moving from detailed design into construction and working in partnership with Highways England!

What can you bring to this role?

• A professional qualification in Civil Engineering: HNC, HND, BSc, BEng, MSc, MEng
• You MUST have worked your way up from a traditional site route (up to Agent or PM) AND then gone into Planning. Ideally will be fully proficient in P6 Primavera software and be able to build programmes from scratch!
• A background in the following types of projects:

Construction of new dual carriageways, roundabouts, junction improvements and interchanges with a series of structures

What will you be doing as the Senior Planning Engineer?

Using your P6 and Technical Civil Engineering 'buildability' knowledge, you’ll be updating the Detailed Design Programme (Pre-Construction Schedule) along with our designers in assurance of providing a robust and realistic schedule that reflects the risk and opportunity that could impact key project milestones

You will review and develop the preferred construction sequence considering project wide constraints to confirm the duration in the overall scheme schedule and facilitate construction readiness planning

You will arrange, facilitate and provide output from client and supply chain collaborative planning sessions, Cost load the schedule, Generate Earned Value Analysis from the cost loaded schedule, Monthly updating of the schedule and reports, as well as updating and analysing the schedule based on the effects of Compensation events or other events which may affect the programme.
