Senior Strategy Manager (Construction) in London, London, United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Strategy Manager (Construction) to work on a range of transportation projects at various London locations.

The Key Accountabilities of the Senior Strategy Manager (Construction) will be as follows:

  • Work with Supplier Skills and Housing Strategy teams to produce a construction skills strategy for TfL's housing programme, integrated with the GLA's plans to develop an academy for construction skills.
  • Forecast future skills needs for construction projects, and develop strategy for new areas of skills development - particularly those emerging from modern methods of construction.
  • Liaise with property partners, contractors and TUCA on course development - to ensure that PROCAT offering onsite meets needs of partners.
  • Develop business at TUCA to ensure that it is extensively used by TfL contractors and partners for their construction courses and training programmes.
  • Work closely with senior managers at the GLA to ensure that TUCA programme is integrated into mayoral strategy for an academy for construction
  • Provide advice to Property Development and Asset Management on a site by site basis to ensure that sites come forward with the appropriate level of training and job opportunities.

The Knowledge, Skills and Experience expected of the Senior Strategy Manager (Construction) will be as follows:

  • In-depth knowledge of skills provision and requirements in the housing, transportation and infrastructure sectors in the UK.
  • In-depth knowledge of apprenticeship policy, funding, and support available within London.
  • Knowledge of the Mayor of London's manifesto commitments with regards to skills.
  • Understanding of the issues related to underrepresentation in the housing, transport and infrastructure sector with regards to gender and diversity.
  • Ability to conduct research, accessing a range of information sources and presenting concise summaries and conclusions in an accessible format.
  • Ability to think strategically in order to contribute to the creation of a long term strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience of developing, supporting or implementing apprenticeship or skills and employment programmes within a large organisation, public or industry body, or within a supply chain context.
  • Experience within the skills sector of understanding client needs, developing mutually beneficial solutions, and ensuring buy-in to the agreed approach.
  • Experience of successful programme or project delivery.
