Are you an experienced Possession Planner or Manager firmly in need of a new and exciting challenge within the rail industry? This very well-known main contractor has a fantastic opportunity for a Track Access Planning Manager to join their rail division and take the lead of the track access planning team.

The Opportunity

Covering a large section of the company’s LNW Central/South region, you will be working on a framework consisting of a series of Enhancement and Renewals projects with a large pipeline of further works going beyond 2022.

As Track Access Planning Manager, you will take responsibility of the Track access functions and team, ensuring you will secure the project team requirements for track access, train haulage, on track machines and safe work plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and technically develop the regional Senior Access Planner teams.
  • Co-ordinate long-term track access requirements with the regional Senior Access Planner teams.
  • Deliver PDSW / 019 requirements for Safe Work Planning, including supporting the company’s internal and external Audit processes and fulfil the requirements of the Senior Manager Responsible.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships with client planning teams and with other contractors.
  • Manage and deliver your own portfolio of work in securing worksites, line blockages, train haulage, OTM’s and issue of Safe Work Packs.

Package:

The company are offering a generous package of £55,000 - £60,000 basic per annum DOE, company car or car allowance (£6,000), fantastic overtime rates for anybody wishing to take on extra weekend or night work as a COSS, all tickets kept up to date and funded, support with professional development such as chartership, and matched pension.

With the position offering such a breadth of long-term work, somebody keen to progress within the company would be an ideal fit and you would be provided with a clear succession plan to your desired goals.

About You

To be considered for this position, it is a given that you’ll be an experienced Track access Planner/Possession Planner or Manager within a Tier 1 or 2 contractor environment or Network rail. You must be able to show the ability to manage, mentor and develop staff although sufficient management and leadership training will be provided for somebody looking to step up in their career.

You’ll be confident in your knowledge of Network rail practices and in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have experience in booking OTP and be proficient in NROL.

Essential tickets: PTS, SSOW Planner

Desirable tickets: COSS/ES or SWL1/SWL2 (these will give position you well if you’re keen on working overtime)
