Mane are recruiting for a Materials Controller to work on a 12 month contract in Crawley.
Goals/Mission: Plans, schedules and monitors the ordering of materials through the production cycle; prioritises schedules, customer orders or requisitions to determine items to be procured. Provides complex clerical support to purchasing and materials management in data entry, filing, coordinating paper flow. Communicates with purchasing regarding shipping requirements; responds to inquiries relating to packing lists and shipping instruction. Compiles and maintains records such as time, date, quantity, source and destination of materials received or shipped; inputs data into shipping and/or purchasing systems. Provide inventory control and order book management for the Rail Systems service business. This role is responsible for providing materials availability for projects and fleets. No budget control. The main stakeholders are Project and Fleet Managers.
Stakeholders & Interfaces:
Interfaces with the Finance, I.T. and Commercial departments and Head of Rolling Stock Materials and direct reports; Materials, Projects, Commercial and Fleet Delivery Managers internally and Unipart Rail and other external suppliers.
Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How
Essential:
* A sound knowledge of best practice procurement and buying processes
* Experienced in stock control and inventory management
* Detailed knowledge of materials, stores management procedures and warranty processes
* Good knowledge of IT systems / software
* Good organisational skills
* CIPS Professional diploma in Procurement and Supply
