CLIENT
Linum Consult’s client is working on a major rail project in the Baltics. They are currently in need of an IT Systems Architect to plan and develop the IT Systems for their project, based in Latvia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and integrating IT systems and solutions which meet the service level requirements
- Establishing system architecture principles and standards across the project’s stakeholders
- Developing the system architecture of the Technical Division’s requirements:
- Common Data Environment (CDE) for project’s technical and graphical documentation delivery and exchange
- Geographic Information System (GIS) integration
- Contract Management system integration
- MS SharePoint system integration
- Project Planning, Scheduling and Risk Management system integration
- Railway Asset Management system integration
- Document and maintain an inventory of applications and their integration points
- Provide architecturally compliant technical advice to non-technical meetings
- Defining the systems architecture technical target picture, which is in line with user requirements described in cooperation with the Business Development team and internal IT systems
- Creating system roadmaps leading to infrastructure architecture target picture, taking into account the technology lifecycle
- Establishing the architectural compliancy procedure, and ensuring the IT solutions alignment/compliance with systems roadmaps, systems architecture principles and standards
- Supporting the project with IT systems planning expertise: analysing needs in different departments, describing user requirements, and planning long-term sustainable and interoperable IT systems
- Identifying process automation potential and suggesting improvements to reduce repetitive tasks, visualising progress, and increasing the productivity of the work
- Participating in other departments’ projects as a Project Architect to provide expertise, to help mapping risks, to ensure that the project follows the architectural standards, and is aligned with the technical target picture
- Forecasting capacity, availability, interoperability, and security requirements for IT Systems and ensuring that these can be achieved for a reasonable cost
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree qualification in IT, Systems Engineering, or similar relevant field
- At least 5 years of practical experience in IT Systems Engineering and Architecture
- Experience with Information Assurance/Security, Hardware Configuration, Software Configuration and Virtual Environments is essential
- Previous experience of cloud-based solution delivery, preferably in Azure
- Any experience with the design and deployment of SaaS based solutions would be considered an advantage
- Ideally have experience with 3D modelling and design tools for large infrastructure projects, BIM systems, large scale planning tools (Oracle Primavera P6, Safran, etc.)
- Strong communication skills in English, with an excellent ability to present technical ideas to a range of stakeholders
- The right to live and work in the EU
