Rolling Stock Consultant: UK

We are currently working with a Technical Engineering Consultancy business in the UK who are recruiting for experienced Rolling Stock Engineers to join their team in Derby.

The role requires someone to apply their knowledge of Rolling Stock to a well-established and growing Rolling Stock technical consultancy business. The role requires the candidate to be responsible for the management and deliver of their own projects, reporting both financially and technically to the Rolling Stock Consultancy team lead. The role offers the opportunity to collaboratively develop the team, with the candidate having the opportunity to influence the type of work the team peruses.

Functional Scope:
To be responsible for delivering a range of rolling stock consultancy projects to a high standard, developing and maintaining client relationships and the management of small to medium sized projects.
The role will require the candidate to either possess, or be willing to develop a wide variety of skills. These include, rolling stock engineering, application of CSM, maintenance optimisation. The candidate will have delegated budgetary and technical responsibilities, and in future, support the growth of Engineers. A good knowledge of Rolling Stock design, modification, introduction, maintenance or operation is required for any candidate that is interested in the role.

Key responsibilities:
Developing proposals and undertaking account management activities to enhance client relationships and secure further work
Managing projects, controlling budgets, quality and timeliness of deliverables
To deliver successful technical services to clients and rail projects
Representing the company at industry events and committees such as marketing events, as required.
Attending meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
National and International travel, as required on a project by project basis.
