Salary: £37,379 per annum rising to £49,838 per annum
Location: Allerton, Liverpool
About the role:
We are looking to recruit a Traction Riding Inspector; in this role you will carry out call outs to failed trains and assist in improving the reliability of our trains. This includes servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairs of our rolling stock. Additionally, ensuring that all requirements and targets are met, this includes continuously reviewing and improving the processes.
You will be reporting into the Production Manager and undertaking any work as required, subject to competence, working as part of a team to ensure our customers get the best possible service through excellently maintained fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
*Attend call outs to failed trains
*Go to outstations to complete repairs or fault finding diagnostics
*Ensure compliance with all working instructions, standards and rules and regulations
*Assist in the refuelling and service of our trains in various depots
*Contribute to improving the reliability of our new trains fleet
*Write reports and provide feedback to other colleagues
About you:
We are looking for highly motivated, reliable, and hardworking individuals. To fulfil this your greatest strength will be working as part of a team and strong electrical and mechanical skills. Applicants should have the practical ability and understanding of maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and/or machinery. You will be an excellent communicator and have good organisational abilities.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
*Previous experience working on train systems, including electrics, hydraulics, air systems, diesel engines and fault finding.
*Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 - Electrical qualification and experience preferred
*Be flexible, versatile and have ability to successfully complete further competency training as required
*Self management and prioritisation skills
*Work as part of a team also and as an individual to achieve workload and show initiative where necessary.
*Adhere to working and safety instructions
*Good communication skills
*It is desirable to have an understanding of COSSH safety related instructions
