You will be working on a variety of locomotives as a high level electrical and mechanical expert carrying out repairs, fault finding, diagnosis and reactive solutions. You must have scientific understanding of how electricity works and be capable of achieving solutions - "The book stops with you" mentality is essential to success in this opportunity. When a breakdown happens - you are the only solution, therefore you will have a rounded experience to a high depth of knowledge.

Yourself, what do you need to succeed?

To be considered for this role you must have a high level of knowledge and experience of the electrical and mechanical workings of locomotives specifically pneumatics/hydraulics/diesel and be able to diagnose faults, react and carry out maintenance.

You will have a high level of scientific understanding of how electricity works and be capable of finding and achieving solutions to problems as they arise, to keep the locomotive fleet moving.

You will have experience of fault finding and repairing while riding the train and be able to carry out static testing such as testing pressure, electrical systems and braking systems.

Previous experience of Train Riding, testing and fault finding are essential for this role, so experience of pneumatics/hydraulics/diesels and knowledge of safe working practices is a must.

Previous experience of reactive maintenance and diagnosing of faults or potential faults is key to this role.
