Samuel Knight International are working with a leading rail-freight operator who are looking to urgently recruit an experienced Train Planner on a permanent basis in the East Midlands .

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations & Director of Freight, the successful applicant will work within an expanded planning team to assist in the safe and effective planning and delivery of our clients Freight locomotive & wagon fleet.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team and have a flexible approach to working. We are looking for someone with the following key skills:

• Previous experience in a loco planner / diagrammer position (Essential)
• Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint Skills – Teams and PowerBI desirable
• TOPS experience.
• Data Visualization Skills.
• Experience of producing detailed reports and data.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of Rail Freight
• Knowledge of Locomotive and Wagon types.
• Good geographical knowledge of the railway network and infrastructure.
• Be proactive and able to show initiative with a positive approach to work.
• Ability to work on multiple projects.
