Current Opportunity: MEP Certification Manager
Location: Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Key Accountabilities:
• To develop and implement Handover Management Plans/Procedures/Templates
• To implement all Technical Assurance & Handover Management Processes, ensuring alignment between Central and all Site Project Areas.
• To develop certification (Single Assurance Pack) and completion strategy
• To define and Implement Site Project Areas “Certification trackers”, based on certification strategy levels, dates from construction Programme updates and deliverables required as per Technical Certification Management Plan.
• Managing the progress of handover packages, ensuring all content is in compliance with the contractual requirements and that packages are submitted on time as planned.
• Establish and report against quality performance KPIs, alerting management about any potential risk/deviation
• To work in coordination with all Technical Assurance & Handover team (including Key Date Handover), Delivery (all departments including Project Directors and Quality), Project Control, Commercial teams, DJV/LDR, HS2 (including third parties’ interfaces).
• Attending project meetings
• Supporting knowledge sharing, and developing and delivering training to project teams (including supply chain)
• Engage with the site team to make technical assurance part of business as usual.
• Work in accordance with the BBV IMS.
• Implement and maintain the Technical Assurance Plan (TAP), which governs how BBV plans, manages and discharges its assurance obligations
• Implement and maintain the Technical Certification Management Procedure (TCMP) and the Plan for Completion, which describe how the project will transfer the constructed assets to HS2, ensuring that BBV can demonstrate compliance to all HS2 works information, standards and contract requirements technical (CRTs).
• Monitor change and updates to the requirements and ensure appropriately communicated and actioned.
• Support management for delivery of Technical Assurance and Handover from completion of detailed design through to handover packages at each phase of works completion, ensuring full records traceability and availability to the satisfaction of the Client
• To keep regular coordination with all BBV departments involved in the assurance process of all TLC stages.
Essential Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in the management of QMS on major projects in the construction industry, UK experience a plus
• Experience of Technical Assurance (compliance requirements), Certification packages, handover and completion.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
• ISO 9001 Audit Experience Key Skills and Knowledge:
• Highly organised with good communication and coordination skills
• Autonomy, Initiative, Productive and Efficient
• Ability to strike a balance between high quality standards and practicality of site implementation
• Good information management and analytical skills, able to quickly and efficiently seek out the relevant and pertinent points from large volumes of project information.
• Experienced in the use of project information tools and management systems including MS Office and web-based collaboration technologies for project information and process management, such as IBM Doors • Safety Committed (CSCS card, SMSTS or similar)
• Driving license
