Company Information

Our client is a growing engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering multidisciplinary projects across the UK transportation and infrastructure sector. With a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation for collaborative delivery, they are seeking an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team and support the continued growth of the business.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of competitive tenders and estimates for infrastructure projects ranging from approximately £200k to £10m
  • Manage a portfolio of pre-construction pricing opportunities across multiple live bids and frameworks
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules and client requirements to develop accurate cost plans and tender submissions
  • Liaise with operational, commercial, design and supply chain teams to obtain pricing, identify risks and develop winning bid strategies
  • Support tender handovers and provide commercial input throughout the pre-construction and project mobilisation stages

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within infrastructure, rail or major civil engineering projects
  • Demonstrable experience pricing projects in the £200k – £10m range
  • Strong understanding of estimating principles, cost planning and tender preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent commercial awareness, communication skills and attention to detail

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience estimating rail infrastructure projects, including E&P, M&E,Telecoms,Signalling,Civils and multidisciplinary schemes
  • Experience working on framework agreements and negotiated contracts
  • Familiarity with Network Rail standards and infrastructure delivery processes
  • Experience using industry estimating software and Excel-based cost models
  • HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering or a related discipline

Salary range

  • £60,000 - £70,000 per year
