Core Responsibilities
- Lead the team: Supervise daily site operations and assign tasks to groundworkers or labourers.
- Ensure safety: Conduct risk assessments (such as POWRA or SSWR), hold toolbox talks, and ensure proper PPE use.
- Handle materials: Order and coordinate plant, tools, and materials via the site manager or supervisor.
- Maintain standards: Inspect work quality and progress against project plans and technical drawings.
- Admin duties: Complete daily logs, vehicle check records, and report any site delays or incidents.
- Experience: Proven background in groundworks, civil engineering, drainage, or highways.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS
- Communication: Strong leadership to guide a crew and liaise with project managers.
