Job Introduction
We are looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the SCS Railways team delivering HS2. This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of electrical works across complex infrastructure sites.
You will assist with day-to-day engineering activities, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards. The role is ideal for someone looking to build practical site experience while supporting senior engineers on a major UK infrastructure project.

Role Responsibility
- Support the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Assist in producing and maintaining inspection and test records
- Undertake site surveys and collect engineering data
- Provide on-site support to electrical supervisors and trades
- Monitor works to ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
- Assist with planning and coordination of electrical activities
- Help track progress and update project documentation and records
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
What You’ll Be Supporting:
Working alongside Senior Electrical Engineers, you will contribute to:
- Installation and commissioning of electrical systems
- Temporary and permanent works on major infrastructure assets
- Delivery of works in line with programme and project requirements
This role allows senior engineers to focus on design, strategy, procurement, and technical leadership, while you build core engineering and site experience.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree (or working towards) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong interest in construction and infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of basic electrical principles
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Willingness to work on-site and learn from experienced engineers
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word)
Desirable
- Previous placement or internship within construction or engineering
- Knowledge of construction site processes or HSEQ standards
- Interest in working towards professional accreditation (e.g. IET)

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
