Current Opportunity: Health & Safety Coordinator
Location:
Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Role description:
• Maintain RWD health, safety and wellbeing KPI trackers, dashboards, calendars, action logs and supporting records.
• Coordinate monthly reporting information for SHWeLT, Exec SHWeLT and other safety governance meetings.
• Support the planning and delivery of campaigns, briefings, stand-downs, attendance records, quiz returns and evidence packs.
• Monitor safety observations, help identify themes and good practice, and support follow-up where required.
• Support safety meetings through agenda preparation, minutes, action tracking and evidence gathering.
• Track close-out of actions from inspections, audits, tours, campaigns, assurance activity and SHWeLT meetings.
• Support the rollout and day-to-day use of safety tools across Route-Wide Delivery.
• Work closely with the company supporting the safety tools, including testing, feedback, user guidance and improvement actions.
• Help improve consistency in how safety tools, records and reporting processes are used across RWD workstreams.
Essential Experience:
• Strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Confident user of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint.
• Able to manage trackers, action logs, calendars, meeting records and reporting information.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with operational and support teams.
• Experience supporting meetings, reporting, safety tools, system rollout or process improvement would be beneficial.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure or a project environment would be useful, but is not essential.
