About HS2:
- Therole will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network.It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space onthe existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities withfast, reliable and frequent high-speed services
- The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCSJV) is delivering the HS2 Main Work Civils Contract (MWCC) for London. Thecombined value of the contracts is significant with the works due forcompletion this decade. Scope of worksincludes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridgedemolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and theconstruction of site compounds.

Key Role & Responsibility:
- Develop and support cloud-based software solutions
- Develop and support connectors to integrate cloud solutions
- Develop rules based, machine learning and AI automations for business systems including:-
- Civil engineering asset information systems
- Core IT: Service desk, Asset Management, Risk Management
- Develop automated checks of document meta data compliance
- Develop predictive analytics for upcoming changes
- Document designs for solutions
- Write support documentation for any developed solutions
- Develop any solutions in line with information security requirements
- Take changes through enterprise IT change management processes
- Support the development and testing of supervised, unsupervised machine learning models and statistical modelling techniques to identify patterns, trends and risks in project and business data
- Support development of data and automation pipelines using Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models and agent-based approaches to enable automated data processing, orchestration and decision support workflows
- Help keep our systems safe by supporting day‑to‑day security checks, e.g; you’ll learn how to spot unusual activity, help ensure devices are up to date, and work with the team to keep our data protected.
- Assist in maintaining good cybersecurity across the business, e.g.; you’ll help with tasks like checking compliance, reviewing access permissions, and supporting secure ways of working.
- Be a friendly first point of contact for IT questions, e.g; you’ll help colleagues with everyday issues — forgotten passwords, software installs, device setup, and troubleshooting.
- Support the team in keeping our tech running smoothly, e.g; helping to set up tablets, managing accounts, learning how to follow change‑management processes, and keeping our documentation up to date.
