Job Title: Plant Technician GPS & HFR

Location: M6 Loop Site

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Technician with expertise in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Human Form Recognition (HFR) systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electro-mechanical equipment within our plant, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong background in fault finding, problem-solving, and the ability to work with advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance:
    • Install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical plant equipment, ensuring all systems function optimally.
    • Integrate and configure Global Positioning Systems (GPS) within the plant's operations.
    • Integrate and configure Human Form Recognition (HFR) systems within the plant's operations.
    • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair:
    • Diagnose and resolve issues with plant equipment, utilizing strong fault-finding skills.
    • Address malfunctions in GPS and HFR systems promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
    • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in GPS and HFR technologies.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to the team on the integration and maintenance of these systems.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new processes and technologies to improve plant efficiency.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
    • Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding equipment status and needs.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure all equipment and systems comply with industry regulations and company policies.
    • Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Level 3 NVQ Plant Maintenance / Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a plant technician, with experience in GPS and HFR systems preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
    • Hands-on experience with GPS technology and Human Form Recognition systems.
    • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible overtime or on-call shifts.
    • Physical ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy equipment as required.
