Role Overview:The Plant and Vehicle Marshall is responsible for the safe movement and coordination of plant machinery and vehicles on and around the construction site. This role ensures that all vehicle and pedestrian movements are conducted safely and in compliance with HS2 site procedures and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and guide plant and vehicle movements safely around the site.
- Ensure exclusion zones are maintained and clearly marked.
- Manage vehicle entry and exit points, including delivery coordination.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, plant operators, and site personnel.
- Maintain clear visibility of all movements and hazards at all times.
- Conduct pre-use safety checks of marshalling equipment and PPE.
- Support traffic management plans and enforce site rules and signage.
- Report any near misses, incidents, or unsafe conditions to site management.
- Cooperate with site supervisors, traffic marshals, and logistics teams.
- Ensure compliance with HS2's safety standards and environmental policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid CPCS/NPORS Plant and Vehicle Marshal certification (or equivalent).
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Good understanding of site traffic management procedures.
- Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Good communication and situational awareness skills.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects (preferred).
