About HS2:
- Therole will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network.It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space onthe existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities withfast, reliable and frequent high speed services
- The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCSJV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1(Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined valueof the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in2025. Scope of works includes twin-boredtunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition andreconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of sitecompounds.

Key Role and responsibilities :
Our apprentice programme is a great opportunityto gain a recognised qualification from college, whilst working on one of ourprojects and earning a salary.. The role will involve providing supportto all aspects of construction while developing the necessary skills toprogress within a Contracting organization
- Supporting senior commercial staff with costs and contracts relating to projects
- The process of cost control, forecasting and reporting
- Procurement and analysing tenders, negotiating and administering subcontract accounts
- Capturing, managing and communicating change and risk on the project in accordance with the contract
- Detailed record-keeping
- Working towards your formal qualification
- Keeping a work diary outlining your training progress throughout your apprenticeship
