HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity: Section Foreperson
Location: Based in Coventry - the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes
Key Accountabilities
- Lead by example in promoting BBV's Zero Harm and safety-first culture.
- Deliver daily briefings, task briefings, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
- Monitor compliance with HS2 and BBV health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Identify hazards, implement control measures, and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Supervise construction activities within the assigned section of works.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to achieve programme milestones.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Monitor work progress and provide updates to the General Foreperson and Site Management Team.
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience working as a Foreperson, Section Foreperson, or Senior Supervisor within major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in heavy civil engineering, earthworks, structures, highways, rail, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure schemes.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong focus on health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Card (Supervisory Level or above)
