Current Opportunity: Senior Site Support Officer
Location: Kingsbury
As a Senior Site Support, the role is responsible for maintaining robust processes, supporting project cost reporting, and ensuring compliance with BBV standards. While plant is the primary focus, the role may also extend to material procure to payment activities and payroll as required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Team Management & HR
• Lead, manage, and develop Site Support staff, including recruitment, training, PDRs, and performance management
• Identify and nurture talent, supporting career progression and addressing performance issues constructively
• Monitor team performance, productivity, and data quality using weekly and monthly metrics
• Foster a high-performing culture aligned to BBV values and behaviours
Plant & Cost Management (Core Focus)
• Monitor plant on-hire, ensuring accurate cost allocation, control, and reporting
• Produce and confidently present plant cost reports, leading weekly plant cost meetings
• Engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders, managing difficult conversations to drive accountability and cost efficiency
Project Execution & Financial Control
• Implement and maintain robust Site Support processes, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing
• Monitor invoice matching, accruals, and resolve discrepancies through root cause analysis
• Drive Right First Time (RFT) performance, generating measurable savings through improved processes
• Ensure compliance with BBV policies, procedures, and reporting timetables Reporting & Governance
• Produce standard and bespoke reports, dashboards, and KPI reporting to support decision-making
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of cost and management information
• Analyse data trends to identify issues, support root cause analysis, and implement actionable improvements
Procure to Pay, Materials & Payroll Support (Subject to Business need)
• Manage materials receipt (GRN), P-Card activity, and associated controls
• Collate payroll inputs, including weekly labour allocation and costing
• Resolve invoice and supplier queries with Balfour Beatty Newcastle, Procurement, and site teams efficiently
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Operations, and regional teams to ensure consistency and efficiency Continuous Improvement
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and innovation
• Lead and embed lean practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Implement process improvements at project level and share best practice across teams
General
• Provide proactive, ad hoc support to the Project team as required
• Adapt to additional project-specific responsibilities in line with business needs
Essential Experience:
• Proven experience leading and managing teams, including performance management, development, and building high-performing functions
• Strong finance and cost reporting experience, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively
• Experience working on large, complex construction or infrastructure projects
• Demonstrable experience in:
o Building and developing finance administration/Site Support teams
o Plant management, costing, and allocation processes (including company vans) o Bulk materials control and reconciliation processes
o Goods receipt (GRN), stores management, and materials tracking
o Timekeeping and payroll processes
• Solid understanding of accounting routines, with construction-related finance experience desirable
