HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity: Surveyor
Location: Central Region: Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce and review Survey RAMS, TBS.
• Seeks to improve levels of safety at every opportunity.
• Assist to identify all eligible Survey locations that may be impacted by the authorised works from the Farm Packs
• Check all details associated with each farm pack, identify BBV asset constructed and determine reminder of the farm pack.
• Carry out site survey and produce detailed report along with AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate the delivery of focused support to the performance and assurance of drainage surveys
• Undertakes to maintain the obligations arising from schedule 16 hand back as set out in the Employer's Information Paper and Code of Construction Practice
• Assist to identify all eligible Survey locations that may be impacted by the authorised works.
• Check all details associated with each land parcel.
• Carry out site survey and produce detailed report along with suitable sketch as per approved report template.
Essential Experience:
• Ability to learn and be adaptive with project progression
• Proficient to an intermediate level in the application of working practices and approved IT systems
• Previous experience in the surveys, ground works, structures, and heavy civil works.
• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
• Ability to visit survey location to carry out and verify surveys, produce survey reports where required.
• Ability to plan and deliver to project deadlines.
