Working closely with commercial, engineering and finance teams, you’ll ensure that plant, labour, material and subcontractor costs are accurately recorded, challenged where required, and aligned to project budgets. <li>Experience in a cost engineering or cost control role within construction, rail, civils or engineering environments, or substantial experience as a Cost Clerk handling cost control and invoicing tasks</li><li>Strong understanding of construction project cost elements including plant, labour, materials, depot operations and subcontract packages</li><li>Demonstrable experience processing invoices, checking alignment with purchase orders and ensuring accurate cost allocation</li><li>Confidence engaging with suppliers to query costs, challenge discrepancies and ensure accurate charging</li><li>Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (such as Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management) is preferred</li><li>Familiarity with cost control systems such as Copernic, JADE, LISA or similar</li><li>Membership of ACostE or a similar professional body is advantageous</li></ul>
