What you will be doing:
Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and complex repairs on a modern fleet of rail vehicles.
Reactive Fault Finding: Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure operational excellence.
Operational Support: Carry out essential pre-use checks on tools and equipment, and support key tasks such as topping up fuel and sand levels.
Compliance: Adhere to rigorous engineering standards and procedures, ensuring all relevant documentation and asset management systems are accurately completed.
To join the team, you will need to pass a basic DBS check, a Drugs &amp; Alcohol test, and a full rail medical.

About The Role:

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
We are looking to recruit a Site Engineer on a freelance basis to join our Engineering team based in Calvert. The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations.
You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget. You will be responsible for work with the other team members of the setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. Monitoring and coordinating subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements. Ensuring that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.

Responsible for overseeing the design, construction, temporary works, shaft sinking, SCL works, secondary linings for TIDs, cross passages, tunnel connections and all associated FRC works related to the shafts and headhouses stairs coordinating with the TBMs and tunnelling activities in the DU's scope. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities and supply chain management and relationships to ensure that assets are completed on time, within budget, to the highest quality standards and fully assured to the requirements of HS2. The Shafts (Civils) Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the projects meeting client expectations and organizational objectives.
