We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways and public realm scheme focused on regeneration and improving walking and cycling infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile project delivering long-term community benefits.We are ideally looking for someone with solid experience in highways, public realm, and active travel schemes (cycle paths, street works, etc.), though we may consider a more senior individual if they demonstrate strong experience and capability. Project Overview The scheme is centred around regeneration works to enhance walking and cycling routes, including the construction of new cycle paths and associated public realm improvements. Key Works Include: <ul><li>Temporary traffic management</li><li>Coordination and assistance with statutory undertaker utility works</li><li>Carriageway resurfacing and surface treatments</li><li>Kerbing, footways, and cycleways</li><li>Signal junction improvements and controlled crossings</li><li>Signing and road markings</li><li>Relocation of bus shelters</li><li>Road lighting</li><li>Landscaping and tree works</li><li>Minor structures</li><li>Arts and Culture package as part of social value delivery</li></ul> Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Day-to-day site supervision and coordination of works</li><li>Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification</li><li>Managing subcontractors and liaising with stakeholders</li><li>Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality</li><li>Supporting delivery of social value elements within the scheme</li></ul> Requirements: <ul><li>Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within highways and/or public realm works</li><li>Strong understanding of traffic management and live environment projects</li><li>Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders</li><li>SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred</li><li>Good communication and organisational skills</li></ul>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company. Are you a Cost Engineer with experience working for main contractors on construction projects? Do you have Cost Control experience in labour, plant, or materials?Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum Location: Wednesbury, on site 5 days per weekThis is an excellent opportunity to join a leading rail contractor within their Urban/light rail division, supporting a major depot operation. You’ll take ownership of cost control activities, invoice processing, and financial administration across a high-volume, fast-paced delivery environment. Working closely with commercial, engineering and finance teams, you’ll ensure that plant, labour, material and subcontractor costs are accurately recorded, challenged where required, and aligned to project budgets. The role offers strong exposure to major civils and rail infrastructure, with genuine opportunities to build deeper commercial expertise in a supportive and collaborative team.Essential Requirements:<ul>
<li>Experience in a cost engineering or cost control role within construction, rail, civils or engineering environments, or substantial experience as a Cost Clerk handling cost control and invoicing tasks</li><li>Strong understanding of construction project cost elements including plant, labour, materials, depot operations and subcontract packages</li><li>Demonstrable experience processing invoices, checking alignment with purchase orders and ensuring accurate cost allocation</li><li>Confidence engaging with suppliers to query costs, challenge discrepancies and ensure accurate charging</li><li>Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (such as Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management) is preferred</li><li>Familiarity with cost control systems such as Copernic, JADE, LISA or similar</li><li>Membership of ACostE or a similar professional body is advantageous</li></ul>
Nice to Have:<ul>
<li>Background in civils disciplines such as drainage, piling or concrete works</li><li>Experience working at scale with high-volume invoicing or large monthly cost cycles</li><li>Prior work in depot or maintenance environments</li><li>Ability to support elements of change control and cost impact analysis</li></ul>
