Asset Information Analyst
Purpose of the Job
The programme will deliver a new cross-London rail link from Maidenhead in the west,
through central London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. A critical enabler for the effective
long-term operation and management of these new assets is to ensure that enough asset information is gathered and stored to support these long-term objectives.
The role of Asset Information Analyst is an important strategic role with key responsibility for the
effective utilisation and control of asset information within the Asset Information
Management System (AIMS) and other related systems and data sources.
The term Asset information includes:
- A list of all assets and systems that comprise the project
- Classification of these assets into generic types
- Key attributes of these assets and systems
- Location and spatial information of assets
- The relationship between different assets and systems to provide services to allow the
railway to operate effectively
- Documents, drawings, manuals and certificates that relate to these assets
- Photographs, videos and digital media of these assets
Principal Accountabilities
- Processing of prepopulated templates into the AIMS database
- Coordination of various AIMS processes utilised to create and update configuration items within
the AIMS database
- Utilisation of key performance indicator reports to provide early identification of issues in data
quality, quantity and provision
- Production of reports for asset information, project status, key stakeholders, asset types,
attributes and data validation
- Delivery of ad hoc data analysis activities to a variety of stakeholders
- Identifying and implementing changes to workflow processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these processes
- Maintaining quality tracking information
- Updating user support documentation
- Delivery of training to information providers and stakeholders
- Providing support within the Asset system team where required
- Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction. Never knowingly put information or information systems at risk

- Ensuring efficient delivery of work to tight deadlines
- Effective co-ordination of the significant number of relationships related to the provision and co-ordination of asset information
- Ensuring that all information providers understand the importance of asset information and their roles and responsibilities
- Ensuring that key reports are generated correctly and to regular timeframes
- Coordination of multiple processes adhering to required priorities
- Maintaining accurate audit information
- Ensuring that all standards, processes and supporting documentation are kept up to date and organised for easy access by their intended users
- Establishing and maintaining the integrity of asset information & data within the AIMS utilising good practice configuration management where appropriate
Person Specification
Experience using key performance measures to identify and resolve process problem areas is essential
Methodical approach to work with a high attention to detail is essential
Experience analysing and manipulating large data sets within Microsoft Excel and/or databases
The skills to constructively manage key relationships is essential
Knowledge of data management practices is desirable
Knowledge of data analysis using a variety of data analysis tools and techniques is desirable
Working knowledge of eB database is desirable
- Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas is desirable
- Knowledge of data governance approaches is desirable
