A large rail organisation is currently recruiting for a GIS Data Analyst to join them, ideally in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
This role will support them in the form of GIS data management and all related activities. The post holder will be working within the Digital Engineering team supporting delivery functions and interfacing with suppliers across information types (graphical, non-graphical, and geospatial). The successful candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on GIS data management such as data production, and compliance of data quality & assurance processes.

Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for reporting data quality issues and analysis of root causes to the Digital Engineering Team and Suppliers, with particular focus on GIS data.
- Responsibility for compliance, of data created, with Digital Engineering standards, specifications, and operating procedures.
- Responsibility for developing and delivering training and support to relevant business functions, regarding company standards and specifications.
- Responsibility for identifying areas for improvement and feedback into information requirements.
- Stakeholder engagement
- Data assurance techniques and assurances
- Data specialism in GIS data and modeling
- Communication skills to support training and upskilling
- Knowledge of GIS and its applications
- Technical knowledge of dealing with issues
- Esri experience/exposure
- ARC GIS Suite of software
- Data management, and data quality & assurance experience throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Experience of raising awareness of Digital Engineering, delivering briefing sessions and providing support throughout an organization and its supply chain.
- Experience of working within set standards, processes, and systems but with an expectation to contribute to decision making on process improvement.
