CAD Engineer in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician with strong Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD skills to support trenchless crossing design works. The successful candidate will operate within a Common Data Environment (CDE) to produce detailed civil drawings, including plan and profile layouts, surface models, and shaft general arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed civil engineering drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Create surfaces, alignments, and profiles from topographical and survey data.
Interpret and accurately position utility information within plans and sections.
Develop shaft general arrangement drawings, incorporating design details and technical specifications.
Maintain drawing standards, documentation, and revision control within the project's CDE.
Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to ensure design accuracy and project delivery.
Must-Haves:
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D - surface creation, alignment creation, and profile creation.
3+ years' experience using Autodesk AutoCAD.
3+ years' experience operating within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
Minimum education: BTEC in Civil Engineering / Construction (or equivalent).
Minimum 3+ years' experience as a CAD Technician.
Good-to-Haves:
Experience with Bentley MicroStation.
Experience with Autodesk Revit or Navisworks.
3D modelling experience in AutoCAD.
Experience producing and scheduling reinforced concrete (RC) drawings.
Right to work in the UK.
BTEC or Degree in other engineering-related disciplines.
About the Role:
The chosen candidate will play a key role in producing a comprehensive batch of drawings for a trenchless crossing design. This will include generating plan and vertical sections from Civil 3D surface profiles, interpreting utility information, and developing detailed shaft GA drawings to meet technical and project-specific requirements.
